A few refreshments will be provided by the League of Women Voters. May Ballot Measure Bend Fire LevySpeakers: Larry Langston, Bend Fire ChiefTom Fay, Executive Director, Deschutes County Rural Fire Protection District #2 & Bend fire Department Facility ManagerJodie Barram Bend Mayor Pro TemApril 3, 11am-1pmBlack Bear Dinner  Larry Langston, Bend Fire Chief started his fire career in 1972 as a paramedic in Alaska.  In 1987 he was promoted to Chief of the Anchorage Fire Department where he served for 8 years before coming to Bend. Larry became the 5th Chief of the Bend Fire Department in 1994 until 2008 when he retired. Asked to step in as Interim Chief in 2013, Larry is once again at the helm of Bend Fire.Tom Fay, executive director, Deschutes County Rural Fire Protection District #2 & Bend Fire, Department Facility Manager oversees the fire protection of 250 square miles of the County for residents outside of municipalities.  He also has a 5 member board that he works with. Jodie Barram, Bend Mayor Pro Tem has served on the Bend City Council since December 2008. Before that, she was on the Bend Planning Commission. Jodie substitutes as an educational assistant and is married with two active teenagers. This event is open to the general public.
