first_imgIn comparison to last year, the unemployment rate in April 2014 was 8.4 per cent with 38,300 people working.Across the province the Northeast continues to have the lowest unemployment rate with Kelowna at 5.6.  The region with the highest unemployment rate in B.C. is Kootney’s at 7.5.Overall the Province saw an increase in the unemployment rate from 6.3 to 6.4.- Advertisement -As for across Canada, the unemployment rate remained steady at 6.8 per cent even though 19,000 jobs were lost.last_img
