Gold Coast houses that starred in TV shows fetch millions

first_imgThe Sovereign Islands house at 6 Queen Guineveres Place starred in Netflix series Lunatics.TWO Gold Coast mega-mansions that starred on the small screen this year have sold in multimillion-dollar deals.Cashed-up buyers didn’t waste any time snapping up the Sovereign Islands and Hope Island properties, which both sold shortly after appearing in popular television shows.The extravagant Sovereign Islands home appeared in an equally over-the-top Netflix hit Lunatics.It was used in the first episode of the controversial mockumentary series by Chris Lilley as a home character Quentin Cook, a smug and incompetent real estate agent with a large behind who dreams of being a famous DJ and street artist, was trying to sell. Sellers Leo Nipperess and partner Brett Park bought the property five years ago and spent more than half a million dollars renovating it.Mr Nipperess said when it hit the market the home’s highlights included a $15,000 chandelier, which took a professional cleaner nine hours to polish, and a dressing room hidden behind a wall of mirrors. “We were renovating because we wanted to live there forever but we like projects and get bored so now it’s finished we are ready for our next project,” he said. The Hope Island house at 2633 Virginia Drive also starred in a television series. The buyers actually saw it on Find Me A Beach House Australia.At Hope Island, another mansion on Virginia Drive sold about two weeks after it was featured on Foxtel’s Find me a Beach House Australia.
